You only live once, so you should enjoy it even if it means taking risks.
With that in mind, he opened a yakitori restaurant called “Yaoya.” Previously, he was a salesman for Asahi Beer, but he was fascinated by the shining figures of young owners active in the food and beverage industry, and decided to “give it a try myself.” He decided without hesitation on the business of “yakitori, which I love,” and after two years of preparation, he went independent in September of last year.
The name of the restaurant is derived from Yao, Osaka, where the owner worked during his time in business. There are currently four staff members, with an average age of 26.5 years old. They are all former DJs and singers, and are friends who love street culture. Hip-hop and reggae music is played inside the restaurant, but the yakitori is orthodox, carefully grilled over charcoal. The yakitori is reasonably priced at 150 to 200 yen, and the exquisite saltiness and carefully selected side dishes make it perfect for drinking.
